Granny Tweed – Little is known about this wayward trio, but from numerous reports they have been entertaining and/or alienating audiences since roughly 2009. Originating in Kansas, they were quickly branded as “wheat rock” (a highly offensive music classification to midwesterners). Due to this shameful episode they relocated to Colorado where they tried very hard to fit into the “sedimentary rock” sound of the Denver scene. Failing at this as well, ultimately they decided to just be themselves. Granny Tweed’s brand of “self rock” is an ambitious amalgam of sounds including but not limited to experimental punk rock, country, alterna-indie and surf music.
