The Upper Colfax Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization fueling the impactful programs of the Colfax Ave Business Improvement District. Through our fundraising efforts, we empower initiatives that keep Colfax vibrant, safe, and thriving.
The Upper Colfax Community Foundation is dedicated to supporting and preserving the eclectic culture of Colfax Avenue. We provide additional resources and advocacy for storefront businesses, champion safety initiatives, and work to maintain the historic essence of the avenue. Our efforts also include the installation of public art, fostering a sense of community through development projects, and creating events that bring people together. Through these initiatives, we strive to ensure that Colfax Avenue remains a thriving, unique, and cherished part of Denver’s landscape.

A Cleaner Colfax
By keeping the public right-of-way free of litter and graffiti, Colfax attracts more visitors and businesses, boosting foot traffic and economic growth and making the avenue a lively and alluring destination.
A Safer Colfax
By working closely with District 6 Police, business owners, property owners, and residents to implement safety initiatives such as our Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) grant program.
Placemaking
Places making efforts in the public realm help create a spirit and vibrancy to Colfax to attract people to come and spend time at the businesses. Our Streetscape Plan provides enhanced safety, respects the historic nature of the street, and improves the pedestrian experience, all while keeping our independent and original street thriving.
Public Art Installations
Public art installations along the corridor, including working with local artists to transform our 15 power boxes into vessels of storytelling and art, and fostering the creation of additional murals throughout the district.
Public Events
We create events that celebrate the diversity and resilience of the Colfax community, including our annual Indie Week and past events such as Art-i-fax, Root 40 Music Fest, and the Victorian Home Holiday Tour.
